[Motmot] Various announcements, including FView updates

Hi Andrew,

The latest updates to Fview seem to have re-broken it for me. I run
Fview from the command line, then choose "initialize camera". It
recognizes my camera; I choose OK; then I get a "Segmentation fault"
and Fview crashes with no log. Before today's updates, this would
happen occasionally, but usually I just had to [unplug the camera,
replug it, restart Fview] once or twice before it would work. Now it
crashes every time.
