Yes, I just walked over to your computer and all the packages were up to
date. It said it needed a restart, so I rebooted it and replugged the
camera, just to make sure it was not in any kind of weird state...

Is this immediately upon going to the smaller ROI or just after some
seconds or minutes?

...and then I was successfully able to get about 733 fps at 80x80 pixels
on your Basler A602f. Decreasing to 64x64 caused a crash. And then the
kernel appeared to be in a wedged state -- replugging the camera no
longer helped. So a reboot is necessary.

I'm afraid there's not much I can do about the linux kernel getting
internally screwed up right now... We could think about using a
different camera that doesn't do weird stuff at 64x64 pixels, though. I
have one you could borrow that should probably work. (A Pt. Grey
Dragonfly Express.)
