[Motmot] buildbot enabled; Windows help wanted

Hi all,
I've recently enabled a "buildbot" to automatically checkout and test
the latest versions of the Motmot code. Together with lots of good
tests, which I'm working on writing, this should result in fewer errors
able to creep into the code base, and allow developers to make changes
with less worry about breaking something. To see the output of the
buildbot in action, go to http://motmot-buildbot.code.astraw.com/waterfall
As can be seen on that webpage, I have been attempting to get the Motmot
packages to build on Windows. Also in evidence is that I have so far
failed. This is not a complete surprise, since the package tested,
FastImage, has relatively complicated dependencies -- either Intel's
Integrated Performance Primitives or AMD's Framewave library, and the
buildbot client itself seems to have some issues on Windows. This latter
issue was actually the stumbling block for me so far.
Which brings me to ask for anyone interested in supporting Windows
lurking on this list -- if you want Motmot automatically tested on
Windows, I would like to work with you to get the automated building and
testing working on that platform. Please contact me either on- or
off-list. Eventually, I would like these automated builds to create the
official software releases, so that the testing and released code are
exactly the same, build with the same process, and so that anyone can
test the development version without needing to compile the code
themselves. Buildbot is very automated, so a one-time investment in
setup should result in a long term payoff.
Thanks,
Andrew
