Dear David,
I just uploaded a VE package for Lucid to my Ubuntu 10.04 repository at
https://launchpad.net/~astraw/+archive/ppa/+packages
<https://launchpad.net/%7Eastraw/+archive/ppa/+packages>
It seems to be taking a little while to build, but once done, it should
be available through the normal Ubuntu package update mechanisms. If
you're impatient, would should also be able to download the .deb from
the repository directly once it has compiled.
