Dear Andrew,

Can you please help with this. I thought this would be very straightforward but I am totally stuck.
I just bought an AVT Guppy Firewire camera (the B/W CMOS model) and I cannot get it to work with FView.

This is under Ubuntu 10.4.1 Desktop, 64 bit, fresh clean install (although I did go back and forth between plain FView and AVT-versions after I could not get the original FView set-up to work).

When driving the camera through AVT's cc1394 utility, it seems to work fine.

FView recognizes the camera ("Camera > initialize camera..." shows it as "AVT Guppy F036B (A47010F0A5A35h)",
but after selecting the video mode (regardless of which one), I get an
"Error opening camera" dialog box (see below).

I have tried this both with
-- plain vanilla FView installation
-- using what I take are the AVT-specific versions of your modules
I get the "Error opening camera" dialog in both cases, although with a slightly different error report in the dialog:

I also tried whether installing libdc1394-avt-22_2.1.2.0-1amd64.deb makes a difference but it did not seem to.

Below the output from the error message boxes and from fview.log file.

Your help with this is greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Swidbert
